SWARTZMEYER - Virginia Louise (nee Weber)Of Buffalo, NY, at age 82, passed away at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, on April 7, 2023. Following a brief illness during Holy Week, with her family present and in prayer for her, our mother peacefully went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Good Friday.

One of seven children, Virginia was born on March 19, 1941, to Gladys Louise Weber (nee Bastian) and Louis Weber. She is predeceased by her sisters: Joyce, and Barbara; her brothers: Richard, Gary, and Louis, and survived by her sister, Priscilla. She is also predeceased by her former husband: Francis Elmer Swartzmeyer.

Virginia was a very kind and compassionate soul. She was well known for her positive energy, her great sense of humor, her charming personality as well as a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. A creative woman, she enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She loved to decorate for Christmas, teaching us how to paint Christmas ornaments with meticulous detail.

A devout Christian, Virginia loved Bible study and gospel music. She enjoyed playing games with friends and family and especially loved to solve puzzles. She enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, fishing, and picnicking. She cared for and loved her Miniature Pinscher, the late "Mr. Snuggles".

We celebrate our mother's love, and her legacy as the matriarch of our very large and beautiful family. We are very grateful for her and the way that she touched so many, many lives.

Virginia is mother to six children, survived by Robert James Shannon, his wife Norma, (grandmother to his children: Michael, Kelly, Laura, and his godson, Matthew), Ronald Thomas Storrs, his wife, Valerie, (grandmother to their daughter: Hannah), Virginia Lynn Storrs, (grandmother to her children: Amanda, Jeffrey, Tracey), predeceased by Frank Lynn Storrs, survived by his former partner, Dianne, (grandmother to their children: Jason, Nicolle, Amber, Samantha), predeceased by Samuel Francis Swartzmeyer, survived by Tracey James Swartzmeyer, his wife, Michelle, (and grandmother to their children: Kaitlyn, Samuel).

Mother of six children, with thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, indeed, Virginia has been blessed by family!

Our mother's love of family was evident at many large, joyous, and boisterous gatherings, filled with her charismatic telling of stories, jokes, and lots and lots of uproarious laughter! Even needing to be told, on more than one occasion, to "keep it down!"

We love our mother deeply and we will miss her dearly, but we do not fear for her. Knowing that she is a woman of strong faith, we celebrate our mother's love of the Lord. Indeed, we are inspired by her anticipation of Heaven. We are confident she is free of all earthly bonds and walking freely with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
