Violet Mary Licata (nee Grabp) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 24, 2024. Violet was born on March 12, 1938, in Buffalo, NY. The first of two children of Mae and Michael Grabp, Violet and her dear younger brother Irvin had a wonderful childhood growing up in Buffalo. Violet graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School in 1956 where she formed lifelong friendships. In 1956 Violet married Thomas Linton and they had three children, Thomas, Tammy, and Mark. Violet was a loving mother and grandmother. She had a profound influence on her family and friends who adored her. Violet embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength and spirit, and devotion to her faith. A devout Catholic, she held a special place in her heart for Mary the Blessed Mother.

Violet was known for her advocacy for the humane treatment of animals. She had a lifelong youthful spirit that endeared her to everyone she met. Violet appreciated the simple things in life like a hot cup of tea and good conversation. Her warm personality and infectious laughter would light up any room.

Violet retired after 40 years of dedicated service at National Fuel, where she excelled in various roles and forged lasting friendships. A voracious reader, she spent her free time immersed in books and continued to champion the humane treatment of animals throughout her life. Violet enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was passionate about health and wellness.

Violet is survived by her son Thomas (Susan) Linton, daughter Tammy (Greg) DiMuzio, son Mark Linton, grandchildren Danielle Lyons, Dr. Melissa Kouns, Blake Linton, Katharine Mae Willen, Joe DiMuzio, great-grandchildren Josie, Jordy, and Julian Lyons, Charlie, Isabelle, Grace, and Lily Kouns, Violet Linton, Georgia and Caroline Willen, and nephew Irvin Grabp. Violet was preceded in death by her dear parents Mae V. and Michael Grabp, brother Irvin Grabp, and her beloved grandmother Violet Mary Heckman.

A funeral mass in memory of Violet will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Mitchell, KY on Saturday June 1, 2024. Internment at Saint Stephens cemetery in Ft. Thomas Kentucky will follow. Violet will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on in her family and in the hearts of those she touched.
