HENRY - Sharon Marie Passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on January 5, 1943, in Hornell, NY, and later made her home in Buffalo, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from D'Youville University. She was a Sister of Mercy during the infamous Attica Correctional Facility prison riot in 1971. She later served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Major. After Honorable discharge, she worked for the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and the Visiting Nursing Association (VNA) for 28 years before retiring. Even in her youth, Sharon's bravery was evident. As a young girl, she saved a child from drowning, an act of heroism that was recognized in the Hornell newspaper. She was a passionate sports fan who loved cheering on the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Gertrude (Heyshan) Henry; her brothers, Greg and Doug (Sharon S.) Henry. She is survived by her son, Kevin Henry, and the many dear friends she considered family. Sharon's legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A service to honor her life will be held at the Polish Falcons in Depew, NY, and military funeral honors will be held at WNY National Cemetery at a later date. No prior visitation.
