COUGHLIN - Rita A. (nee Bulger) October 6, 1936 - February 10, 2026 Rita A. (Bulger) Coughlin, 89, died peacefully on February 10, 2026 at Hospice Buffalo. Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Mary Bulger.She moved to Buffalo in 2009 and was the adored "Groussie" and adventurous companion to Gabriel and Julia Burger. She was an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in both Binghamton and Buffalo, and marched in many St. Patrick's Day parades - always in full Rita-Regalia. Her family and her Catholic faith were her foundations. She was a warm and bright light to all who knew her, and for more than three decades, she served the Binghamton community in the operating room at UHS/BGH. Mom lived until she died.Rita is survived by her five children and their spouses, Eileen and David Williams, Terrence Coughlin, Mary Coughlin, Kelly Coughlin and Eric Burger, and Kathleen Coughlin, and her two grandchildren, Gabriel and Julia Burger.
