CESSNA - Richard B. Of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 after a lengthy illness at age 77. He was born on March 11, 1947 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Richard and Vada (Steele) Cessna.

Richard is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sara Cessna; and his children, Wendy (Tim) Randall, Julie (Dan) McIntyre and Marc Cessna. He is also survived by Amy (David) Weir, Mark (Angela) Gedeon, Jim Gedeon and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Garrett, Libby, Derek, Katie, Kyle, Erin, Allison and Sara. He was predeceased by his grandson, John Richard Randall and his sister, Cheryl Reynolds.

After serving in the United States Army in Okinawa, Japan, Richard returned stateside and earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Buffalo. He worked as an Accountant for local businesses before his retirement.

Richard enjoyed spending time with family, traveling to places like Washington, DC and Walt Disney World and watching vintage television shows. He coached youth soccer and was involved in many of his children's and grandchildren's activities. He was a long-time member of St Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church and a past member of the Lewiston Kiwanis Club.

No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 2587 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 AM. Interment in the Columbarium at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church.
