It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Priscilla Graupman, a beloved sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. Priscilla (Aunt Nel to her nieces and nephews) passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023, just hours after a final visit from her brother Robert Graupman and her nephews.

Priscilla was born on August 30, 1948 in Brockport, NY to Warren and Gertrude Graupman. She is predeceased by both her parents, and her sisters Nancy Lardner and Marilyn Scott. She is survived by her only brother Robert Graupman (Cher) and her nieces, Kathryn Cleary and Stephanie Haynes, Diane Staab and Susan Johnson, and nephews Kurt, Dusty and Cory Graupman, and many friends.

Priscilla was born August 30, 1948, and grew up in Hamlin, NY where her family owned several farms. Her parents were 2nd generation German immigrants. As a spirited young lady, she excelled in school and was involved in many sports activities. She graduated from Brockport High, from Brockport College with a bachelor's degree in physical education, and finally the University at Buffalo with a master's degree in education.

Priscilla excelled in sports and loved nothing more than to talk about her passion for softball, basketball, and golf. Perhaps the only thing she enjoyed more was debating politics. Among the highlights of her long athletic career were playing competitive fastpitch softball for the Buffalo Sunbirds in the early 1980's, being inducted into the Metro Buffalo ASA/USA Hall of Fame (Amateur Softball Association) and the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame.

When Priscilla's focus shifted to golf, she became a member at Gowanda Country Club and then finally a 5-time Club Champion at Hickory Ridge in Holley, NY (much like her least favorite US President). She competed in many regional golf competitions in both Buffalo and Rochester. But her most proud athletic achievement was being invited to try out for the US Pan-American Games women's softball team in the early 1980's. She was one of only 50 players invited throughout the whole country.

Priscilla's passion for on-the-field competition included coaching, teaching, officiating, and organizing sports activities for most of her 75 years. She taught PE and coached at The Park School in Buffalo, and eventually settled in Gowanda both teaching and coaching basketball and softball. Ultimately her interests led her to the role she held for most of her adult life as the Recreation Director at the Gowanda Correction Facility. Priscilla was the first full time female Rec Director in the NYS Department of Corrections in history.

After her retirement Priscilla split her time for many years between Florida and Western NY often being found on the golf course each morning and retiring to her cherished RV and dogs in the evening. It is with a heavy heart we must say goodbye. May she rest in peace, forever remembered, and cherished.
