SCHROEDER - Paul Jason Sr.

July 5, 1945 - August 28, 2026

Of Chaffee, NY, peacefully on August 28, 2026, leaving behind a family who will remember his compassionate and kind heart, his easy going nature, the warmth he showed those he loved, and the happiness he found in the outdoors.

Paul and his wife, Paula, grew up just down the road from one another in West Falls, New York. They married young and, for 59 years, shared a life together and raised their three sons: Paul "Jay" (Lori) Schroeder, Kevin (Angel) Schroeder, and Todd (Stacey) Schroeder. Their family grew to include five grandchildren, PJ (Britany), Kody, Garrett, Alicia, and Easton, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Few things brought Paul more joy than having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren around.

Paul was the son of the late Charlotte (Robert) Baur and Lawrence Schroeder. He was the brother of the late Douglas (Edith) Schroeder, the late Joy Murphy, David (Bonnie) Schroeder, and Joan (Jim) Brooks.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. After returning home, he worked at ATI until its closing and then went on to work at Fisher Price. He later worked for Brooks Rigging, where he remained until his retirement in 2011.

Paul found peace in the simple things. The outdoors was where he felt most at home. He loved hunting, fishing, and simply being surrounded by nature. Some of the memories he leaves behind are equally simple and special, including his grandchildren picking blueberries from his blueberry bushes and fresh walleye brought home from a day of fishing with friends to become dinner with the family.

Paul did not need many words to show his love. It could be felt in the way his face lit up when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren came around, in the life he and Paula built over nearly six decades, and in the warm hugs he gave so freely. Those expressions of love and the memories made throughout his life will be deeply missed and carried on by his family.
