MALLON - Marie Therese "TC" (nee Cardinal) Of Hamburg, NY, age 96, put off her mortal infirmities June 3, 2023 at Fox Run, Orchard Park, NY, her residence in recent years. Mrs. Mallon was born October 11, 1926, in Malone, Franklin County, NY, the daughter of Albine Cardinal, nee Marion, and Ralph J. Cardinal, former mayor of Malone. Her parents were naturalized citizens, originally from Quebec.TC attended St. Joseph's Academy in Malone, and at age 16 matriculated at the College of New Rochelle, both of which were founded by Sisters of the Ursuline Order. TC and Walter Barry Mallon, Jr. were married following his graduation from Yale University Law School and his joining the Moot, Sprague firm in Buffalo, NY. Later, she pursued a Master's degree at Buffalo State College. TC was predeceased by her husband on June 24, 2008, and she was the "last leaf " of her siblings: her sister, the late Francoise (Charles) Passonno, and her brother, the late Ralph M. (Beulah) Cardinal. She was also bereaved, January 13, 2020, by the passing of her daughter Marie Elise (Mills) Ford of Denver and by her sister-in-law Patricia (Carl) Hanna of Malone. Surviving family includes son-in-law, Mills H. Ford, of Denver; two sons and their spouses: George Barry (Shkofeh) of Hamburg, NY and Marc Andrew (Neasia) of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren: Cyrus A. Mallon of Groningen, Netherlands; Darius O. Mallon of Hamburg, NY; Ariane Therese Mallon of Brooklyn, NY; Christiane Elise Mallon of NYC; Rhodes Ford and Haslam Ford of Denver; and niece Monique (Richard) Cunningham of Troy, NY; nieces Nancy (Frank) Hanna of Vero Beach, FL and Carol (Deb) Hanna of Hawaii; and nephews: Ralph (Dr. Joanne) Cardinal of New Mexico and Thomas (Margaret Mary) Cardinal of Malone, NY.TC was active with the Hamburg League of Women Voters, the American Field Service, and the Twentieth Century Club of Buffalo. TC was passionate about many things, but none more than the Caspian Lake cottage her husband's grandfather, John C. Stone, had built as a quiet nook suitable for writing mathematical textbooks. Her love of fine cuisine, theater, travel, art, and music produced many lasting friendships, and she loved snow skiing with friends and family. A consummate hostess, several foreign students were welcomed into her family, among whom were Andrea (Francesca) Pavanini of Venice, Italy, and the late Richard (Laurel) Dutton of Colden, NY.TC was a communicant in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Hamburg, NY, where a Mass will be said at a date to be determined.
