SMOLAREK – Lynda (nee Montgomery) November 15, 1957 - July 19, 2026

Lynda Montgomery Smolarek died on July 19, 2026 in the Buffalo General Medical Center Hospital, Intensive Care Unit. She was employed by Kaleida Health as a Senior Director of Human Resources. She worked for many years as a consultant or an employee for non-profit hospital organizations, including Memorial Hospital of Gulfport, MS and several in New Jersey.

Lynda was born in Mobile, Alabama to James Leon Montgomery and Billie Grayson Mueller on November 15, 1957. She was a graduate of Julius T. Wright Preparatory School and the University of South Alabama, both in Mobile and earned a master's degree. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Elizabeth Lee Montgomery Knowles (Wade).

Lynda is survived by her husband, John Smolarek of Gulfport, MS; children, John (Katelyn) of Hamilton, NJ, Jason of Biloxi, MS, Amanda (David Wasniewski) of West Windsor, NJ, Jacquelyn (Wil Ramirez) of Owing Mills, MD, and Mark of Gulfport, MS and 5 grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Laura Wallace (David) of San Antonio, Texas; her two daughters, and Elizabeth's son and daughter.
