Linda
Harrington
Jan 24, 1956 — Jan 8, 2025
HARRINGTON - Linda Jane (nee Stief) Passed peacefully on January 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous battle with cancer, her remarkable journey on this earth has come to an end. Devoted wife of 49 years to Daniel; dearest mother of James (Judith), Sherri (Thomas), and Kathrine (Anibal); adored grandmother of Noelle (Zachary), Kayla (Travis), Breana (Hailey), Stefan (deceased), Celenia, and Melina; daughter of Eugene and Rose Stief; also survived by her two sisters, great-grandchildren, loving friends and family, and many fur grand-babies.
Linda always adored nature. From Alleghany to Thousand Islands, to going for nature walks & feeding the birds in her country backyard, she loved basking in the beauty of God's creations. She accepted everyone for exactly who they were without judgment, treating them like family as soon as she met them. She worked hard to earn her Bachelor's, then Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, a field which she worked in passionately for 21 years. Her optimism and contagious laugh left an impact on all who knew her. We will always remember her annual Harrington Christmas letters, playing classical music every time we went through the car wash, using every opportunity to make Dad's home improvement projects even more complicated, and her magical hugs that made everything better.
So many of us have made beautiful and unforgettable memories with Linda, and although we're heartbroken that's she's gone, we are grateful that she's no longer in pain. She shared so many traditions and great times with her family & friends, and those memories will keep us going beyond the sadness. She was the matriarch of the Harrington family and will be sorely missed until we meet again. A summer memorial picnic for close friends & family will be held at a later date.
