Becker
Apr 3, 1946 — Sep 1, 2026
BECKER – Karen A. (nee Coppell)
April 3, 1946 – September 1, 2026
Of West Seneca, NY. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Dr. Gary E. Becker; dearest mother of Greta M. (Paul) Brokaw, Lisa A. (Mark) Kalinowski, Daniel E. (Patricia) Becker and Sarah J. Becker; grandmother of Justin and Joseph Brokaw, Andrew, Emma, Samantha and Max Kalinowski, Daniel (Maggie) Becker Jr. and Jacob Becker, Jay Jay Marin and Jason Marin; great-grandmother of Conner Kalinowski and Owen Becker; daughter of the late Everett W. and Erma (Denz) Coppell; sister of Denise (Rick) Gigante; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Karen was a delight and a blessing to all who knew her. She was a pastor’s wife, who raised four children, and supported both her family and her husband’s ministry tirelessly as a secretary, pianist, choir director, and Sunday School teacher. She also served as a loving and faithful caregiver to her husband, Gary, in the final years of his life. She was “Mom”, “Gigi” and “Gramma” to her own, but also to many family friends. Endlessly generous, she was known for her brownies, German potato salad, roast beef, meatballs, and more. She loved to cook and serve others. Karen spoiled everyone she could and especially doted on her grandchildren (and later, great-grandchildren), who were her joy and delight. Even when her health declined, she continued to smile, laugh, and encourage others. She loved Jesus, and it showed. In recent years, she truly displayed a “peace that passes understanding", and right up to her last day on earth, she just kept getting sweeter. She left a mark on her family that will not fade, and she will be missed greatly.
No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Odosagih Bible Conference in Machias, NY.
