Obituary

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved Gale Louise Scott. Gale was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Thank you for keeping our Family in your thoughts and prayers Funeral arrangements are as follows:

SCOTT - Gale Louise (nee Kelley) October 20, 1947 - February 7, 2026 Gale Louise (Kelley) Scott was born on October 20, 1947 in Norfolk County, Virginia. She was the oldest of three siblings. Her father John Lester Kelley was in the Navy and stationed in Virginia. In 1955 the family moved to West Islip, N.Y., where Gale graduated from West Islip high school. After high school graduation and some college, Gale went on to work in Manhattan where she had a chance to enjoy the Big Apple. In 1975 Gale had her first child, Gigi Atkins from a previous marriage. Gale and Jim started dating in 1977 and after a brief time in Flint Michigan, they settled in Buffalo NY. They went on to get Married on August 8th 1981. A few years later they had a son Jimmy, born on November 18th, 1983. Gale worked at Design for industry for a few years and then on to Canisius College and St. James church where she worked with youth in the community as a safe haven to keep teens off the streets. Gale was heavily involved in volunteering at the church, and block club, which she passed on her love for community service to her son Jimmy. Gale eventually went on to work and retired from The City of Buffalo in the drug and alcohol abuse clinic. Gale loved to be social and at any event could be seen talking for hours on end. She was a homemaker with a passion for cooking as well as art and crafts. Gale will be greatly missed by friends and loved ones. She leaves behind husband James N. Scott Jr., children Gigi Atkins-Tyson and James N. Scott III, grandchildren Jaylin N. Scott and Hendrix N. Scott and sister Dorothy Kelley.
