DENNIS - Dean A. Of Boston, NY, passed away on July 23, 2024 while surrounded by his family in his home, after a long fight with metastatic bladder cancer. He was 82.

Dean Arnold Dennis was born on September 22, 1941, in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1959 and then served in the United States Air Force as a C130 crew chief for 4 years. Upon returning home from service, Dean worked for 30 years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He also enjoyed working as an auctioneer and a bartender through the years.

Dean, known to most as "Deano," loved his family, his dear friends, and enjoyed rock 'n roll music, playing poker, answering correctly to almost every answer on Jeopardy, and in his younger years, a good game of golf. Deano could be seen riding his mower around his property; this was a favorite thing to do and he'd often spend time during retirement mowing his son's and neighbor's lawns, too. Every Sunday he'd settle in to cheer for the Bills, and when they'd lose in the playoffs, he'd inevitably say, "maybe next year." He enjoyed good conversation and always encouraged people to be their best.

Dean was the loving husband of Barbara (nee Flicinski); father to Tracy (Stephen) Bousquet and Kelly (Jeff) Knapp; step-father to Lisa (Paul) Bermingham, Scott (Lisa) Anger, Jeffrey (Rachael) Anger, Brian (Sue) Petronsky and Mark (Gina) Petronsky; grandfather of Jamie (Josh), Samantha (Justin), Eric (Lynsey), Nicholas, Christine (Mike), Sarah (Mitchell), Brandon (Sabrina), Alaina, Matthew, Nathan, Alex, Olivia, Chase, Jeffery, John, Katherine, Margaret, Grace and 7 great-grandchildren; dear brother to his eldest sister Ethel Ascuitto; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dean was predeceased by his beloved mother, Thelma Schaeffer, and siblings Kenneth VanVolkenburg, James Dennis and Dolores Schwenk.
