GREENWAY - David J. Of Buffalo, NY, born August 27, 1954 died November 30, 2022. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Szachta) Greenway for 44 years. Dear father of Courtney (Matt) Quinn, Jason Greenway, and Ryan (Katie) Greenway; loving Papa of Rowan, Clare, Patrick, Thomas, Grace, Maeve, and Emmett; dear brother of Glenn (Karen) Greenway, Gary (late Margaret) Greenway, Danny Greenway, and late sister Dixie Beyer; loving son of the late Margaret and Paul Greenway; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and colleagues. The family will be present to receive friends, Friday, December 2, 2022 from 2-7 PM at the DANIEL J. LEONARD FUNERAL HOME, 873 Abbott Rd., South Buffalo, NY (same location as Castiglia Funeral Home, Inc.). Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 450 Abbott Rd., South Buffalo, NY. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. David proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps before beginning his dedicated 31 year career with the Buffalo Police Department. He was also Chief in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, serving in Saudi Arabia in 1991 and Kuwait in 2004. In his retirement, you would have found him attending dance recitals and horseback riding, at the baseball field, or in a hockey rink, as his wife and family had his heart.
