Charles Robert Anderson passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 75 years old. Born on November 16, 1949, Charles was the beloved son of the late Matthew J. Anderson and Delphine C. Anderson (nee Taylor). A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Charles is survived by his loving wife, Robin; his daughter, Shannon Westenfield and her husband, Adam; his son, Matthew Anderson and his wife, Ryanne; and his cherished grandchildren, Everly, Alden, and Cameron Westenfield. Charles was a lifelong Western New Yorker who balanced professional excellence, creative passion, and deep personal integrity. He proudly carried on the family legacy at Anderson Auctioneers and Appraisers, a company founded by his father in 1970. Charles took the helm as President in 1985, continuing to grow the business with the same honesty and dedication his father had modeled. In addition to his business career, Charles served his community for 34 years with the Erie County Sheriff's Department in the Reserve Division. He held roles as a firearms instructor and photography/video specialist, sharing his expertise with professionalism and care. A man of many talents, Charles was also a Certified Master Diver, an avid boater, and a lifelong dog lover. He found great joy in quiet days on the water and cherished the loyal companionship of his dogs. One of his favorite weekly traditions was movie night with friends, a time filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of lasting camaraderie that defined his friendships. At the age of 31, Charles met the love of his life, Robin, at the Pierce Arrow, a serendipitous encounter that marked the beginning of a lifetime of love, partnership, and shared dreams. Their bond was immediate and enduring, and together they built a family grounded in love, humor, and unwavering support for one another. Charles's passion for music was a defining part of his life. A self-taught guitarist from the age of 13, he co-founded a band during high school that would become known as The Mood. From 1963 through 1971, the band performed widely around the Buffalo area and even opened for Eric Clapton--an experience he fondly recalled throughout his life. In 2023, his contributions to the local music scene were formally recognized when he was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, an honor that meant the world to him. His creative pursuits extended beyond the stage. Charles built and operated Audio Magic Recording Studios, a space that nurtured his love of sound and production. The studio later evolved into Imagine Studios, a labor of love that he shared with his son, Matthew. Together, they created a welcoming environment for artists and musicians to explore their craft--yet another example of Charles's lasting impact on those around him. Charles will be remembered for his generous spirit, steady leadership, love of music and adventure, and above all, his deep devotion to his family and friends. His presence was a gift, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. Service Information: No prior visitation.
